Registration has begun for the Semiannual CPAC Sponsor Meeting on November 3-6, 2008 at Hotel Deca, 4507 Brooklyn Avenue, in Seattle's University District. Preliminary details including a registration form can be found here.
The CPAC Spring Meeting will be available via a web-meeting format if we receive sufficient sign-up (a minimum of 5 sponsor participants). We can confirm that Hotel Deca will provide a stable internet connection. CPAC knows that the web-meeting approach broadens out the exposure of CPAC research project reviews and focus group discussions and hopes there will be sufficient support to offer this service.
CPAC's Spring Meeting will open with an optional workshop, Chemometrics Applications for Optical Spectroscopy and Chromatography, presented by Brian Rohrback, InfoMetrix, Inc. (CPAC Associate Sponsor) and David J Veltkamp, CPAC Chemometrician.
The Monday morning tutorial topics are: Bio-Energy, Degradation, and Food.
Monday afternoon will feature general updates on CPAC Activities, selected topics, and a CPAC students poster presentations. (Note: The Poster Session will require a CPAC NDA for non-sponsors.) The content of the posters will emphasize the background of CPAC projects, to provide the audience with a better understanding of the origin of the work and some of the historical progress that has been accomplished.
There will be the traditional Monday evening reception where vendors are encouraged to display their new products. This can provide an excellent opportunity to obtain feedback on product prototypes and to showcase new products.
All-day Tuesday and Wednesday morning will include technical presentations. This Spring 2008 the presentations will include 14 new research projects for your consideration. Tuesday afternoon will include CPAC lab tours followed by the Tuesday event in the UW Club.
The UW Club reception and dinner will include a new feature - we will have a joint Poster Session with CPAC and EigenU. EigenU is holding a Spring Workshop in Seattle and the attendees will join us for the reception and dinner.
On Wednesday the Industrial Focus Groups will follow the final technical presentation. The CPAC IAB Meeting will be held in the afternoon.
The NeSSI™ Workshop will take place on Thursday.
During the meeting there are many opportunities for networking such as the welcome reception on Monday evening, the dinner on Tuesday, the focus group sessions, and free time during lunch. We hope that you will take CPAC Graduate Students to lunch.
